India is a developing nation with a significant chunk of the population still having a low per capita income and residing in setting with poor access to medical infrastructure
While the overall cost of treatment is comparatively less than the developed countries, it continues to be on the higher side for most of the population in India. To add to this, the coverage of medical insurance programs for diseases such as cancer is limited and most of the treatment cost is borne out of pocket.
